FROM 1996 All proton vehicles use transponder keys. This was to combat car theft – only when the car receives a specific code from the transponder (or chip) in the key will it be allowed to start. In most cases programming is done diagnostically by plugging in to the car. We have all the equipment and software required to complete the job quickly on site.

TRANSPONDER TYPE: From 1996 to 1998, the chip used was a Texas fixed code type 4C.

From 1998 the chip used was a Temic crypto type 8C, which used a rolling code for enhanced security.

KEYS LOCKED INSIDE? Amongst other ways of this happening, many cars will self-lock if left unlocked (often after just a minute!) as a security measure. Using non-destructive techniques we can get into your vehicle and get you up and running again, even outside office hours! Call us immediately.
